RVR Arrival!
27 Mar 2010 | Comments (6)Just as the dealer promised, our new Mitsubishi RVR arrived today! To test it out, Azusa and I took a road trip to Osaka to visit Costco and IKEA. It was a pretty fun day and the RVR was a real pleasure to drive! It’s not nearly as fast as our MINI, but as far as build quality and comfort go… The RVR blows the our old MINI away! Here is a nice picture right in front of our condo.
New Mitsubishi RVR
26 Mar 2010 | Comments (0)As I mentioned before, our lease on the MINI is up and we’ve been looking for a new vehicle to fill the gap while we wait for the new MINI Countryman to be released in Japan. We didn’t have to look long though because we almost immediately decided to get the new Mitsubishi RVR which was just released in Japan.
It turns out the the RVR used to be one of Mitsubishi’s most popular vehicles between 1991 and 2002. Now that I’m thinking about it, I see a surprising amount of them still on the road here in Japan.
With a legion of fans and it’s recent release, we thought we wouldn’t be seeing our titanium grey metallic RVR until mid-April at least. I just got back from the dealer though and am really happy to say that it’ll be arriving tomorrow!!! Waaay ahead of schedule!!!
Lot’s of pictures to follow!!!
Hikone MINI Event
04 Mar 2010 | Comments OffWell… These pictures are almost a year old now, but I never got around to posting them. They’ve been just sitting on my server waiting.
These pictures were taken at the 2009 Hikone MINI event that took place just a 5 minute walk from our house! Of course I drove there though!!! It was a great event and one of Hikone’s mascots even made a special appearance!
This is Sakonyan, one of the two popular mascots of Hikone.
We didn’t hit it off so well!!!
But in the end… We made up!
I’m happy I could post these pictures at last. There is some sad news too though. Our lease on the MINI is up and Azusa and I are planning to get a new car soon. Probably not another MINI this time though. We’re going to wait until the new Countryman MINI makes it to Japan before we consider getting another. Right now we’re looking at a few cars, but I’m really interested in a new Mitsubishi! More on that later…
