Cheap Japanese Pizza
24 Jul 2008 | Comments OffOne thing I really miss from America is pizza. It’s not that we don’t have good pizza in Japan, we do! It’s just that it is so expensive! Like 2 or 3 times more than America! Ouch!
There are a few reasonable places though… Take the pizza chain Shakey’s for example. Their lunch buffet is less than $10.00 USD and it’s all you can eat pizza! Not a bad deal at all and they have locations all over Japan! Sure their pizza isn’t the best in the world, but all you can eat? That’s a real treat here in Japan.
For lunch yesterday my friend John and I went to the Shakey’s in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. It was pretty good and they had at least 6 pizzas out on the buffet at any given moment. Some of the pizzas cater to Japanese tastes so we had to be careful not to eat any tuna mayonnaise pizzas, but there were a few yummy ones in there. I even asked the cook for a special peperoni pizza and she made it for me! Yay!!!
By the way, if you are wondering what those brown things on my plate are, they are potatoes, duh! You know, because pizza and potatoes go together like… Umm…
Wordpress for iPhone
23 Jul 2008 | Comments OffHooray! Wordpress for iPhone has finally been released! Now I can easily update Japanamac from my iPhone without struggling with tiny text windows and crashing web browsers. Yeah! I can even post photos right from my iPhone’s camera!
Hopefully this will mean a lot more updates for Japanamac in the future. Now that I can update from almost anywhere in the world, I have no excuse!
This screenshot was taken using a cool trick that is built into the iPhone’s OS. Just hold the sleep button for a second and press the home button. The screen will flash and your nice, new screenshot will appear in your film roll. Pretty cool, huh?
Update:
Well, I’ve been playing around with Wordpress for iPhone and I have to admit, it is impressive! I’m still having some trouble with uploading pictures taken on the iPhone, but it’s mostly because I am picky. I’ll be working on getting them the right size with proper justification this week. If you see anything out of place on the site, please excuse the mess. This week will be full of experiments.
In the end, Wordpress for iPhone is a great tool and I believe that it will allow us to make more frequent updates to Japanamac. Perhaps even multiple times a day!
