Halloween Fiesta
21 Oct 2008 | Comments (2)This past weekend Azusa and I had a Halloween party at our house for the people in my grade office. Mexican food isn’t very common in Japan so we made fajitas, burritos and nachos for everybody! They were a big hit! It was sort of a Halloween Fiesta!!! Everybody was really happy to meet Azusa and they all seemed to enjoy Hikone! It’s funny, but my co-workers said that coming to Hikone is like going on a weekend trip to a far away place! Heck, I make the commute from Hikone to Kyoto everyday!
There aren’t many good Mexican restaurants in Japan, but in recent years I’ve been able to find steady supplies of re-fried beans, taco shells, seasoning, tortillas, suitable cheese and even nachos! The best thing is that most of it can even be bought locally in Hikone now! Things have really changed since these days.
Driving Range

We’ve never really been into golfing, but lately we’ve been going to the driving range with Azusa’s mom and dad to knock some balls around. It’s actually pretty fun and if we’re not careful, we might get addicted! Check out my awesome form!
MINI Curcuit Day 2008
04 Oct 2008 | Comments (1)Today Azusa and I went down to Mie Prefecture to attend MINI’s 4th Annual Circuit Day in Suzuka Twin Circuit. We had been to circuit days in the past, but for some reason it seemed like a lot more fun this year!
The theme of the event was undoubtedly racing with several track events to keep everybody entertained. There were three exciting skill level based races, a racing taxi event where pro drivers hauled attendees around the track at incredible speeds and a sports run where you could borrow one of MINI’s new JCW cars and take it for a lap around the track yourself. Pretty fun stuff! I wanted to do the sports run, but decided on the taxi because I really wanted to see what a pro driver could do with a MINI. Turns out that it was a great choice!
Azusa and I saw many of our old MINI club friends and even made some new ones! My favorite MINI Magazine was also on hand and they took my picture for the November issue of their magazine! I really hope my picture makes it in!
