Waiting at Central Air
27 Jul 2008 | Comments OffMy friend Matt is arriving in Japan today and i’m so excited that I came to the airport 3 hours early! Oops.
Well, at least it’s Nagoya airport. Central Air, or Centrair as we call it around here, is one of the newest and nicest airports in Japan. Having to goof around for a few hours isn’t so bad here. I had me some Starbucks, looked at souvenirs and watched some planes take off. Not so bad. Here are some pictures of my wandering:

Custom Webclip Icons
25 Jul 2008 | Comments OffBack in 2004 I was totally jazzed when I added a favicon to Japanamac. It was so cool! Now it’s 2008 and it’s time to level up that coolness, iPhone style! I can only be talking about one thing! Webclip icons!
Probably nobody will ever add Japanamac to their iPhone’s home screen, but if they did they would be pleasantly surprised to see a custom icon appear instead of the usual webpage screenshot. If you are browsing Japanamac on an iPhone right now, go ahead! Try it! I’ll wait…
OK! See? Cool, huh?
Well, for those of you who are using a crappy computer to browse the Internet, here is a screenshot:

Can you see Japanamac’s custom icon on the bottom right?
For those of you who’d like to make your own custom icon you can find pretty good instructions here.
Browny’s Bagels
25 Jul 2008 | Comments OffI heard a rumor a while back that the best bagels in Japan are from a bakery called Browny. I don’t know why, but the name stuck in my head. Maybe because I thought it was funny that a shop named “Browny” specializes in making bagels?
Anyways, about 6 months ago I found out that Browny just happens to be located near my school! I knew it was in Kyoto, but didn’t know it was so close!
Since then I’ve been going there a lot and they really do have awesome bagels. Best in Japan? Maybe! My friends and I went there for lunch today and it was so good. I took some pictures to share with everybody since it’s pretty hard to send bagels through the iPhone. Enjoy!

Be sure to check it out next time you are in Kyoto and have a craving for bagels!
