Cheap Japanese Pizza
24 Jul 2008 |One thing I really miss from America is pizza. It’s not that we don’t have good pizza in Japan, we do! It’s just that it is so expensive! Like 2 or 3 times more than America! Ouch!
There are a few reasonable places though… Take the pizza chain Shakey’s for example. Their lunch buffet is less than $10.00 USD and it’s all you can eat pizza! Not a bad deal at all and they have locations all over Japan! Sure their pizza isn’t the best in the world, but all you can eat? That’s a real treat here in Japan.
For lunch yesterday my friend John and I went to the Shakey’s in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. It was pretty good and they had at least 6 pizzas out on the buffet at any given moment. Some of the pizzas cater to Japanese tastes so we had to be careful not to eat any tuna mayonnaise pizzas, but there were a few yummy ones in there. I even asked the cook for a special peperoni pizza and she made it for me! Yay!!!
By the way, if you are wondering what those brown things on my plate are, they are potatoes, duh! You know, because pizza and potatoes go together like… Umm…
