Weekend Guest
18 Apr 2008 | Comments (2)I’m super excited because my brother Bryan will be coming to Japan this weekend! Feels like I haven’t seen him in at least a year!!! Wait! It has been a year! Over a year, in fact! Azusa and I can’t wait to see him!
We don’t have much time together though, so planning his stay is important. Since he comes in on Saturday night and leaves on Tuesday morning we are left with only two free days. One of those days we have to go to my school and will probably hang out in Kyoto a little, but the other day is totally free.
Now here is the question! What should we do? Should we:
1) Go to Osaka? Osaka is pretty nice and we can see Osaka Castle, go to one of the nicest camera stores in Japan and shop around for cool stuff. So what would you want to do? Leave your answers in the comments section!2) Go to Shigaraki? We can see traditional pottery and visit a super cool museum in Shigaraki. It’s not too far from home.
3) Go to Kobe? We can go to the new IKEA store that just opened and goof around in the posh downtown area. They have great Chinese food!
4) Go to Koga City? Koga City is in Shiga and is home to Koga Ninjas! Well, it used to be anyways. Now they have a ninja museum and a ninja house that has all sorts of traps and gadgets! Just like the movies!
Sakura Gallery 2008
08 Apr 2008 | Comments OffAs promised, the cherry blossom (sakura) gallery is now online. You can click here to see all of the white, fluffy madness or just follow the link at the bottom of the page.

Oh, by the way… This gallery (and probably all future galleries) was made with Apple’s sweet new gallery function in iPhoto. The gallery may not work with some older web browsers so make sure you have Safari 3 for Mac or Windows!
Cherry Blossom Party
06 Apr 2008 | Comments OffSpring is finally here and it’s cherry blossom season! It’s been cold in Hikone lately, but this weekend was nice and the cherry blossoms suddenly bloomed! I was getting worried that they would bloom mid-week and we wouldn’t be able to see them, but we really got lucky! Anyways, Azusa’s whole family came over and we had a cherry blossom viewing party (hanami) on our veranda. It was super nice! We also walked around the castle and took some pictures. I’ll try to get a gallery up this week so keep a watch out for it!

Oh yeah! Pizza and sushi! It’s the best combo ever!!!
