Japanese Toys R Us
16 Mar 2008 |I am a Toys R Us kid. Always was, always will be. Even though I am 30 years old! I don’t buy a lot of toys, but I still enjoy a trip to see Geoffrey Giraffe every once in a while. That’s one cool thing about living in Hikone. We actually have a nice Toys R Us here. It’s just like it was when I was a kid. Well, except that almost everything they sell is in Japanese! It’s a strange thing to say, but it even smells the same as I remember. Mmm…
When I was going through the newspaper the other day I ran across a Toys R Us advertisement. I thought it was interesting, so I decided to post it. Have a look:
With several spring holidays in Japan aimed at children, Toys R Us has you covered it seems! There are some Japanese altars with mini body armor and Samurai helmets (yoroi and kabuto in Japanese) and fish windsocks (koinobori) all for Children’s Day. They will set you back a pretty penny yen though! At least you get 2 freebies with the deal. Meat and fruit! Yeah… It’s a different country over here…
