Sumo
28 Mar 2005 | Comments (1)Yesterday, Azusa and I were lucky enough to see the final day of the Osaka sumo tournament! Ah, yes… Sumo. I’m sure you all have strong mental images of sumo… It’s a sport where two fat guys push each other around, right? I might have had the same image a week ago, but I learned a great deal about sumo during the tournament. Now I know that sumo is much, much more than that. Anyways, I have to thank my friend, and fellow ALT, Richard Weld III for teaching us about sumo. He actually got our tickets for us and we all sat in the same box. Richard is a bit of a sumo expert and I’ve asked him to be Japanamac’s first ever guest writer. Just click the link that says, “more” and you can read Richard’s excellent essay on Sumo.

No Smoking!
26 Mar 2005 | Comments (5)Who said that nobody likes a quitter? I guess that person never thought of quitting something bad as being something good. Anyways, one week ago today I quit smoking! Surprised? I know it’s only been one week, but for me that’s amazing. I could hardly go one hour without smoking, let alone one week! Now I feel that I’ve finally quit for good! I’m pretty proud of myself. To be fair, I’ve had some help quitting. I couldn’t have done this without my family’s support. I especially have to thank Azusa who put up with me when I was in a bad, “give me a freakin’ cigarette!!!” mood.
She’s Here!
19 Mar 2005 | Comments (3)We got our MINI Cooper S today!!! I wish I had time to tell you how awesome it is, but Azusa and I have to go for a midnight drive now! I’ll try to give you some details about the car tomorrow… If we’re not too busy driving around, that is!

Here she is… In MINI Shiga’s garage…
