Three-Day Weekend
16 Sep 2005 | Comments OffIt’s the start of a holiday weekend here in Japan and Azusa and I are off to Tokyo to visit friends, play video games and swim in the Disney Sea… Sounds confusing, doesn’t it? Anyways, we’ll do our best to post some updates over the next three days. It should be an interesting trip!
Hello Nagahama

So? What’s been going on, you wonder? Well… It’s a bit of a blur, but I’m pretty sure that I’ve spent the last month getting acclimated to my new job. In early August my three-year tenure at Kawase High School came to an end and I’ve since moved to where the real teaching action in Japan is… Elementary school!!!
Yeah, that’s right. I am now officially a teacher at Nagahama Elementary School in beautiful Nagahama, Shiga. Teaching English in elementary school is a relatively new trend in Japan and Nagahama has decided to make English a required subject for all elementary school students grade one through six. Being a teacher here is a pretty exciting job and I’m proud to be part of the Nagahama Elementary School English Program (NESEP).
I’m sure that I’ll have a lot of interesting stories about Nagahama Elementary in the future, but now I have to go… It’s almost noon and I’m off to eat school lunch, one of the biggest perks of this job!!!
Yummy!!!
