Disney Sea
19 Sep 2005 |Well, today was the last day of our Tokyo excursion… It’s sad to think that it’s off to work tomorrow. Oh, well… It’s been a great long weekend!
On our last day in Tokyo we decided to take a chance and visit Disney’s relatively new theme park, Disney Sea. It’s strange, but information on the park seems to be pretty scarce on the Internet and we didn’t know anybody who had been to Disney Sea before. As such, Azusa and I weren’t too sure what to expect from the park. We kinda thought that Disney Sea might be like Sea World or an aquarium or something, but we were way off there…
Disney Sea actually features famous seaports from around the world and throughout history. For example, you might be walking through a beautiful 15th century Mediterranean port and the next moment you find yourself on a busy New York City pier circa 1900. It’s an interesting experience and I we really enjoyed ourselves. The theme of Disney Sea seems to be the word “Dramatic†and that’s exactly what Disney Sea is… Dramatic.
Of course there are some silly Disney themed attractions, but overall the park felt otherworldly. It’s not like Disney Land at all where you are reminded every few seconds that you are in the magical kingdom… I mean, really… Azusa and I were only accosted by one costumed Disney character and it wasn’t even Mickey Mouse! Phew!
Anyways, Disney Sea is pretty hard to explain in words… Instead, why don’t you check out our new Disney Sea gallery by clicking here? I’ve also added the gallery to the links section at the bottom of this page for easy access. Enjoy!
