MINI Circuit Day 2005
29 Jul 2005 | Comments (2)Last weekend Azusa and I drove out to Central Circuit in Hyogo Prefecture for MINI Circuit Day 2005! Circuit Day is an official event held every year by MINI Japan. I heard that as many as 200 cars showed up this year and of course MINI had lots of cool events going on all day. Some lucky people even got to ride alongside professional drivers as they tore around the corners of Central Circuit’s 2.8-kilometer course. Azusa and I weren’t lucky enough to hitch a ride, but we still had a good time anyways!
Here are some pictures from the event…

Thanks to the staff at MINI Japan for sending me this picture. Azusa’s actually not in this picture, but I am… Can you find me?

Azusa took this picture during the parade run.
Michigan Trip
19 Jul 2005 | Comments (1)This past week, my Japanese family and I went to Michigan for a visit. It was really nice to go home and see everybody. I was surprised that so much has changed in the past two years. You can even pay for fast food with credit cards now? Yikes!!!
Anyways, I think my mother and brother-in-law really enjoyed their first visit to my hometown. I’d been telling them about Michigan for years and they finally got to see it for themselves. Of course Azusa and I had a great time too!!!
Azusa and I will be working on some picture galleries tonight. Hopefully we will have them up tomorrow. In the mean time, here is a great picture of my family in Michigan.

Special thanks to my lifelong friend Brian Medved for taking such a nice picture of all of us…
Overdue Update
18 Jul 2005 | Comments OffWell… It seems that Japanamac is once again long overdue for an update. This time by more than a month! It seems that lately I just haven’t had enough free time to work on the site. It’s pretty frustrating.
I have to admit that I was actually considering closing down Japanamac at the end of the week. My last day of work at Kawase High School is Wednesday and it seems like a good place to have some closure. Wow! My three years here sure went by quickly!
Then I got to thinking… My life in Japan will continue well past Kawase High School and there will be many more interesting stories to write about and many more pictures to share with you. Japanamac isn’t exactly what I intended it to be, but it has become an excellent way to tell my family and friends about what is going on here in Shiga. Japanamac even has some fans and people from 16 different countries regularly visit the site! I can’t let everybody down now, can I?
With that said, I’m reaffirming my commitment to Japanamac. Keep checking back for updates, news, pictures and new features. I promise they are coming!!!
