Right now Azusa and I are at Kansai Airport… You know, the one built on a man made island… Anyways, this place is pretty cool and they have wireless Internet!

Azusa and I had some time to kill so we took a couple pictures… I think this one is our plane.

The plane, the plane!

Another Day Older

Today was my 27th birthday. Wow… 27 years old… It’s a little hard to believe… Exactly one year ago I wrote that I didn’t feel any different. I still don’t. Just another day older and just as happy as yesterday!

Anyways, for my birthday Azusa and her mom made pizza… It was so good! Even the crust was hand made! Yum! The three of us had a nice quiet party and even though I wish my American family could have been there too, it was perfect. Everybody from Michigan sent me birthday email and I can’t help remembering how lucky I am… Even though my family is spread out across two countries, they are the best family anybody could hope for. So, to my two moms, two dads, two brothers, one sister and my wonderful wife… Thank you. You are all the best gifts in my life.

Taga

On Saturday, Azusa and I went for a drive around Taga Town. Taga, which borders Hikone City to the east, is rich with beautiful scenery and mountains. It’s really a great place to see the natural side of Japan. Anyways, we visited the Kawachi Wind Hole and the Otaki Shrine. They were both great places and I’m sure we’ll go back in the future.

The Kawachi Wind Hole really isn’t a hole at all. It’s a limestone cave and a big one at that! Almost 3,320 meters of extension! Azusa and I were a little afraid to enter at first, but the cool air escaping from the cave’s mouth lured us in. What can I say? It was a hot day! Outside the cave is a beautiful stream that runs down the mountain through the forest. Just beautiful…

Who knew Taga could be so beautiful?
