Well, today is my 26th birthday! Wow… I don’t feel any different. In fact, I feel pretty darn great. I’m in Japan living my dream. I have a good job, nice place to live, a car and the best friends a person could hope for. What’s not to be happy about?

Weekend Trip

Today we went to Japan’s ancient capital, Nara. Nara Prefecture is an inland prefecture surrounded by the four prefectures of Osaka to the west, Kyoto to the north, Wakayama to the south and Mie to the east.

In Nara we saw Daibutsu, the biggest statue of Buddah in Japan. It’s actually 15 meters tall and weighs 25 tons. Man, that’s one big Buddah! The building it is located in is the world’s largest wooden structure. Amazing…

Look at those people. It gives the building a sense of scale…

Ok, so it’s not a world tour… I am coming home for a visit though! I’ll be in Michigan from August 22nd until August 30th, 2003. It’s going to be a busy trip, so drop me an email if you’d like to make plans or anything…

Wow… Hard to beleive it’s been more than a year now. It went by so fast!
