Bryan and Tabby!
20 Feb 2003 | Comments (0)On Monday I found out that my younger brother Bryan is getting married! That’s right! Bryan and Tabby got engaged on Valentine’s Day! Pretty romantic, eh?
I always had a feeling that they would get married, but I was still pretty darn surprised when I heard… Anyways, the wedding is being planned for June 2004. I’ll still be living in Japan, but I’ll come home to Michigan for the big day! Hope to see everybody there!
Here’s a picture of Bryan and Tabby. They look so cute together, don’t they?

Mucho Gusto!
19 Feb 2003 | Comments (2)Last night Sugiyama, Bruce, Devin and I went to one of our favorite family restaurants.
That’s right! Gusto!
Man, like everything else in Japan, Gusto is high tech… While you wait for your food you can play games and watch movies on the table’s LCD screen… No kidding… The only problem is that Bruce always kicks my butt when we play Othello. I haven”t even won once… Well, not yet anyways! I think I’m like 0 for 30… Poo…
Now if the LCD at the table is too small for you, you could always direct your attention to the 6 foot plasma TV at the back of the restaurant… Man, is it cool! We always seem to go to Gusto when something important is on TV… So far we watched the Super Bowl and the NBA All-Star Game there.
Here’s something that even surprised me… Gusto is so high tech that you can even order carry-out or delivery from your i-mode equipped cell phone! Gusto’s delivery vehicles are pretty lame though… I’ll take a picture of one next time so we can all have a good laugh together!
Here’s a picture of Bruce and Sugiyama from last night. Sugiyama just got a new cell phone. It can take movies!

Anyways, aside from cool technology, Gusto has really tasty food… If you happen to be in Japan someday, I recommend the Teuchi Tonkatsu… Yum.
Culture Note,
We still don’t know how to pronounce Gusto…
It may be Spanish, but the Katakana is more like Gasuto… Hmmm…
This mystery may never be solved.
Picture of the Week!
18 Feb 2003 | Comments (0)Hey guys! Here is the picture of the week!
This picture was taken during winter vacation on the roof of Viva City. I really like this picture, the sky was beautiful that day… I’m thinking about entering it in a local photo contest…
Culture Note,
Viva City is similar to a mall… I live about three minutes away by foot.
