Mac Daddy?

20 Feb 2003 |

Well tonight will be the grand finale of one of the most difficult auctions I have ever participated in… I am trying to win a new 1.25 GHz Desktop Power Mac… It’s the newer model and it’s pimped out to the max! The competition has been fierce, but I think I have a chance… As I write this, there are only two hours left in the auction… So far, I am still winning… I really hope I can pull this off! This is the system of my dreams!

Wish me luck!

Update:

Ok guys! I did it!!! I can’t believe it, but I actually won!!! Honestly, this is the best deal I have ever gotten on a Macintosh. It clocked in at just under $1,400 US!!! The normal price in America is $1999.99 and that’s without the extras! I am still in shock…

A lot of people are interested so here are the specs:

  1. Dual 1.25 GHz Power Mac G4
  2. 1.25 GB PC2700 333MHz DDR SDRAM
  3. Super Drive
  4. Combo Drive (2nd Bay)
  5. 80 GB + 80 GB Hard Drives

Wow, this is one yummy machine… It’s model number M8840LL/J, so it’s the newer, quieter model with Fire Wire 800 and Airport Extreme support… I’ll be ordering an airport card today…

Anyways, I sold my Power Book on Saturday morning… I’ll miss it. It was one of the finest computers I ever owned and that’s saying a lot! I went through eleven Macs last year alone! This one will be remembered… Anyways, I won’t have home email capability until I get my new machine. Should be by mid-week or so…

Culture Note,

  1. The “J” in model number M8840LL/J refers to the Japanese domestic model… Basically the computer is the same, but the documentation is in Japanese.
  2. Airport is called Air Mac in Japan… Strange, huh?

Update:

The monster machine will arrive on Wednesday… I can hardly contain myself…

Update:

The monster machine has arrived… It truly is a beast! Perhaps it’s more computer than any human deserves…
